Once in Canaan, God made a covenant With Abramaround 2000 B.C. recorded in Genesis 15:18 giving him and his descendants the land from the Nile River to the Euphrates River. In reference to present nations, this would include the eastern part of Egypt, half of Saudi Arabia, half of Iraq, most of Syria, a small part of Turkey, all of Lebanon, and all of Jordan. This covenant has never been cancelled. This land has been populated by Jewish people since that time.

 

Abram was chosen to be the father of the Jewish Nation.

1900 - Isaac, Abraham's son, led Israel.

1850 - Jacob, son of Isaac, leads Israel.

1400 - Moses leads the Jews back to Israel from Egypt.

1010 - David unites the 12 tribes into one nation.

970 - Solomon builds the first temple in Jerusalem.

930 - Israel divides into 2 kingdoms; Israel and Judah.

800's - rise of the prophets

722 - Northern Kingdom, Israel, conquered by Assyrians

605 - Southern Kingdom, Judah, conquered by Babylonians

586 - Solomon's temple destroyed by Babylonians

539 - Persians conquer Babylon and control Israel

538 - The Jews return to Israel from exile.

520 - The temple is rebuilt

450 - Reforms made by Ezra and Nehemiah

433 - Malachi sees the end of the prophetic stage

432 - The last of the exiles return to Israel.

333 - The Greeks conquer the Persian Empire

323 - Egyptian and Syrian empire rule Israel

167 - the Hasmonean's recapture Israel and they are independently governed under the Romans.

70 A.D. Romans destroy Israel and Jerusalem. Diaspora Since this time, the Jews were captives to the Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, and Crusaders.

In 1948, the UN established the State of Israel as the homeland and nation of the Jews.
